Snow.............................................

Well, we have woken up to a white world this morning, and little old Bacup was even on the news - it is quite deep the snow and although it is raining it is not shifting the snow. The views are beautiful and, as I have a bad back at the moment, it is a good excuse not to have to go anywhere.........after all I don't want to fall do I. Anyway I have been trying to do little bits whilst my son is awake (I do most when he is in bed as his little hands do tend to wander all over my creative crafts, and I get NOTHING done, I can't wait until he's older and able to do his own). I have folded my origami christmas trees for the front of my cards, and I have found a very very simple folding christmas tree idea that is soooooooooo easy, and soooooooooooo effective here . I have used a magazine that I got in the free ASDA magazine, saves throwing it away and there is nothing like recycling. This is my "half" xmas tree before I have sprayed it.

I am very impressed about how easy it was.

All I need to do now is the other half and spray them both with gold paint, and attach a gold star!!!

So Simple.

I also made a birthday card for our friend Gordon. It was his birthday late end of November and he loves Mini's, hence the mini decoupage
I quite liked this and it just seemed to fall together. I used trimcrafts masculine papers and my old faithful computer with glossy paper for the mini decoupage.
Well I am now going to go and try to finish my christams tree and prep my cards to complete later (I will do them once little man has gone to bed and upload pics then). The hail and the rain is coming now and i want a hot chocolate and to curl up in front of the fire for a bit.

18th Birthday

Well I know i haven't blogged for quite some time but with one thing and another i have been really busy - I have also had to spend the last 5 days in hospital with another pro-lapsed disc (these things are sent to try us). However before I went in I completed two bookatrix cards for my husbands cousin and his girlfriends 18th birthday party (the inconsiderate couple have got together knowing that they were born in the same hospital only 12 hours apart - lol)

Well here goes! I had never even heard of these until I was browsing the blogs - and I come across some cards that had been made using this technique. I was very impressed, and my friend Maria, who has every item ever needed for every eventuality, has magically got one of the bookatrix boards, and with a quick lesson of I went.

Hereare my attempts:

This is Zoes female 18th Birthday card

This is Andy's Male 18th Birthday card

I was quite impressed with the outcome, considering htey were my first attempts.
I have also, well yesterday, completed a male birthday card for my friend, which I will post later on, as I have not yet given it to him.
Thanks

On A Roll

Well I have certainly been a little bit more motivated these last few days than I have for weeks.

I have been "on a roll" last night and tonight making more than 6 cards (beleive me this is lot for me at the moment).

My first one was a three fold christmas card one inspired by a demonstration at my local craft store, The Range.

This one is a decoupage kit that my fantastic friend Maria trreated me too, and I am loving it. Unsure as what to do to make it a little different but I had a go!!

I also did the dove in the decoupage too. i love this card.

Trying to also do more than christmas cards I have doen a dream big card for my friends mum's birthday. Trying to be inspirational.

And last but not least I have done a totally out of character masculine christmas card. I was extremely impressed with the outcome of this and am defiantely going to use more "way Out" patterns from now on.

Well today has been a long one, and I'm off to make another couple of cards and then Bed for the well deserved (and well earned) sleep needed before my brain overloads with all the ideas that seem to be popping out of it at the moment.
bye xx

Halloween

Well I began this blog in good faith, and have, in all honesty, not had time to post on it. I am, however going to make a bit more of an effort.

A lot has been happening lately, our chickens, who were ill are now better and back to laying 9 eggs a day.........................thank goodness, or phil was going to cull them :-( and the veg are coming on leaps and bounds in my NEW greenhouse (it's a hand me down but it is very very useful). My pear tree is unfortunately being attacked by the wind and is not fairing too well, but with a bit of luck it will get through it.
I am madly trying to organize my Halloween Party and this is the thing that seems t be taking up most of my time. I am going to post pics on here, as and when I dod things, firstly are my invites. I have had the idea from tara's blog for my invites - I absolutley love this idea, so that is my first venture. I have teabagged some plain paper tongiht and creased it, to age/distress it and it is currently drying on the radiator. I am going to rip it into sections and put it on the card to look like mummy bandages, similar to the one on Tara's blog. I have loads and loads of ideas, helped along by my good friend Maria at Goldcatsstampingheaven and I will post them on one by one as I do them.........got to go and get rest now
bye for now

Cammies blog giveaway

I haven't been on in a while and I have just be inspired by a lady called Carolyn at the link http://myblogbycammie.blogspot.com/2008/09/heart-to-heart-blog-candy.html. She is trying to make people more aware of the Alzheimer's Association, and the people who care for people with Alzheimers, and as such is running a blog giveaway. She has managed to convince companies such as Crafts 'n Things Magazine, The Cat’s Pajamas, Eclectic Paperie to donate prizes for the giveaway and also people such as Shannon Tuebner and Laurie Schmidlin and this has grown beyond all belief.

All you need to do to win is:

"In celebration of World Alzheimer’s Day, we are reaching out to some amazing people who deserve to be thanked. ….the caregivers. Caring for an Alzheimer’s patient is HARD work and an often thankless job. There are so many people who help and so—I am asking you to make a card for a caretaker of a person affected with Alzheimer’s. Yes, you can send it to someone you know. If you do not know anyone to send a card to the home my grandmother lived in for the last few years of her life. The nurses, aids and support staff there were tremendous. It is such a difficult job and I would love to see them showered with cards!)"
So here is my card, to say "thank you" to all the wonderful people who helped Carolyns grandmother, and all the other carers of people with alzheimers.

This is a great giveaway in aid of some beautiful wonderful people. Please visit the blog and enter this amazing blog giveaway, and put a smile on someones face.

First Cards I made!

Well i think I have managed to work out how to put the pictures on although I'm not sure i have put them on correctly....................................
These are the first three cards I made............
The first one is using the amazing Stampin Up! Simply said stamp set. I just adore this set and it's so versatile.
The second is a Love stamp and bride and groom that Maria kindly lent me (she also used these on my wedding invites and I fell inlove with them). I have tried obtaining the Love Affirmation background stamp from Inkadinkado with no luck what so ever and Ebay also seem to have none, so I must say if anyone has one lurking in the back of a stamping drawer I will be more than happy to take it off your hands if the price is right!!!!!

This one is a set that I WON (i can't normally win an argument) from the Stampin Up demonstration at Altrincham. I love this set for it's versatility as well, although i haven't had the most amount of inspiration these last few days.

I am now, however, going to try and get on with the four cards I need to make in the next two days, and I will post them on here, should I be lucky enough to muster some creativity.

Bye for Now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The first one!!!!!!

Well Hello.........I am a bit unsure how this all works, but hey ho I suppose I'll have a go. As you can tell I'm relatively new to this and have only just started with my also new addiction of cardmaking and scrapbooking (mainly cardmaking at the moment). My friend Maria has fuelled this and I am laying all the blame on her doorstep!!!!! (sorry Maria).

I have not done many cards up to now, but may well try to put a picture of them on here (if I can work out how) to try and motivate myself to get bigger and better!!!

I have had a hectic day with the kids and am trying to think about doing four cards, one for my step-daughters 6th Birthday, one for my nephews 2nd Birthday, an engagement card for my husbands cousin, along with a congratulations on your passing out parade for the same cousin (brave boy's getting engaged ont he same day he completes his passing out parade for the Army). I am also trying to be EXTREMELY creative and think up some lovely little presents to go with the cards!! How this will work I don't know. So if I do get them done I will add pictures.
Bye for Now
